Job Posting: Director of Development, Diocese of Scranton Schools
The Diocese of Scranton is seeking two (2) experience individuals to fill the newly created positions of Directors of Development. One of the successful candidates will serve as Director of Development for the Holy Redeemer School System while the other will serve as Director of Development for the Holy Cross School System. The individuals filling these positions will assist in articulating the Catholic mission of the schools and in creating an environment of Gospel values among students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni.Responsibilities:
• The Directors of Development will provide leadership and direction to a comprehensive fundraising program to increase support among constituencies for annual giving, major gifts, grants, planned giving, and Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), including personal solicitation and prospect research to support our educational mission.
• The Directors will develop and expand opportunities to involve alumni of the predecessor schools in alumni programs, special events and annual giving through personal contact, websites and newsletters.
• The Directors will support the Development Committee of the System Boards and will provide quarterly reports to the Committee and the full System Boards.
Qualifications:
• Three to five years of successful marketing and fundraising experience, especially in personal solicitation of gifts.
• A Bachelor’s Degree, excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills, a team player, self starter, and a collaborator.
• Strong organizational skills, especially among volunteers, proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and fundraising software.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic Church’s mission, vision and values.
