The Assistant Director of Annual Giving coordinates and
executes comprehensive multifaceted fundraising appeals
across direct mail, email, phone, giving days, crowdfunding,
social media, personal solicitation, and volunteer engagement.
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving plays a key role in
developing a strong base of consistent annual donors by
engaging alumni, parents, and friends to support the
University’s mission. The Assistant Director of Annual Giving
works on a highly collaborative team of development and
alumni professionals. Salary range is $45,000-to-$50,000.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop, execute, and measure a comprehensive, annual giving solicitation strategy across
direct mail, email, phone, text, social media, Giving Day, crowdfunding, personal visitation,
and volunteer engagement.

2. Utilize advanced segmentation and data analytics across fundraising strategies with the
primary goal of increasing revenue and donor participation.

3. Plan and execute integrated multi-channel fundraising appeals. Create marketing timelines,
write, edit, and overall project management, with design support from marketing and
collaboration with the Advancement Communications Coordinator.

4. Serve as lead project manager for Giving Day. Develop and execute a strategy to achieve
donor goals, dollar goals, and objectives to broaden giving participation and engage peer-to-
peer fundraising.

5. Manage the Student Giving Program. Identify, recruit, and train students to serve on a
student gift committee that will solicit peers for gifts.

6. Engage volunteers to increase donor participation. Identify, recruit, train, and manage
volunteers who conduct peer-to-peer solicitations.

7. Maintain statistics on assigned annual giving programs and report to Director on a weekly
basis. Effectively test, track, and analyze the success of the annual giving programs to
evaluate and adjust strategies/tactics, as needed, to ensure efforts meet budgets, return on
investment (ROI), and overall department goals.

8. Collaborate with the University Advancement team, other campus representatives, and
volunteers to identify and build strategies for increased donor participation.

9. Monitor a portion of the Development department budget to ensure resources are
appropriately allocated to assigned Annual Giving fundraising appeals for the highest return
on investment.

Minimum Requirements:

Educational – Bachelor’s degree required.

Special Qualifications: Two to four years of fundraising
experience preferably in higher education. Excellent
interpersonal, problem-solving, project management, and
written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Strong
attention to detail and excellent analytical skills with the ability
to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize
opportunities to attain goals. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and
energetic with the capability of motivating others to top
performance. Ability to think creatively with innovation and a
willingness to try new methods around annual giving.
Commitment to a liberal arts education and capable of
articulating a persuasive, passionate case for support.
Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals. Ability
to represent the University with the highest degree of professionalism and positive public relations. Maintain
confidentiality.

Proficiency in MS Office and Raiser’s Edge (or
comparable donor database software). Volunteer management
experience preferred.

Must have a driver’s license; weekend and evening work will
be required.
A completed Marywood application is required.
