More About This Position:

The Associate Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing,
and directing College fundraising activities including the annual appeal, alumni relations, scholarships,
and special events in collaboration with the President & CEO and Senior Director of Marketing &
Development. Salary range is $55,000-to-$60,000.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Manage the day to day operations of the development office, including the work flow for
campaigns, appeals and development events.

• Support a culture of philanthropy by ensuring proper acknowledgement, recognition, and
stewardship of donors. Identify, cultivate, and solicit donors and prospects through direct
personal contact in accordance with performance targets set by the Senior Director of
Marketing & Development.

• Manage alumni relations activities including Golden Alumni Society meetings and reunion,
summer and fall alumni events, and other engagement activities.

• Conduct wealth screening research to identify prospective donors and maximize existing donor
engagement.

• Prepare background materials for the President & CEO for approaching fundraising solicitations.

• Direct the annual fund program, including strategic planning, materials, mailing, events and
analysis.

• Direct major fundraising appeals with the President & CEO.

• Direct College fundraising special events such as Annual Golf Open, Tools & Totes, Giving
Tuesday, Golden Alumni Society Reunion and special Capital Campaign events.

• Oversee Raisers Edge NXT fundraising database and tracking systems; monitor stewardship
initiatives.

• Develop both long and short-term strategic and tactical plans for all aspects of the development
program; develop and implement new giving strategies; and develop new donor initiatives.

• Supervise and collaborate with other staff; collaborate with marketing and communications
staff on messaging in support of all fundraising initiatives.

• Support for Development-based publications such as Annual Report and Blueprint to keep
donors informed of their gifts’ impact throughout the College.

• Participate and be an active member in assigned campus committee(s)

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

EDUCATION:
• BA or BS in English, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
EXPERIENCE:

• 5-7 years of progressively responsible development experience in higher education.

• At least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.

• Raisers Edge NXT

• Wealth Screening Software such as iWave
SKILLS:

• Demonstrated expertise and accomplishment in fundraising, gift and sponsorship solicitation,
stewardship, special events, direct mail, email, and social media fundraising.

• Experience with Alumni engagement, service, and relationship building.

• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

• Proficiency with Raisers Edge NXT data and reporting; strong command of MS Office Suite of
products.

• Attention to detail, accuracy and proficiency with regard to handling data and donor
correspondence.

• Highly developed organizational and leadership skills. Supervisory experience of professional
staff.

• Excellent time management skills to handle a variety of projects simultaneously and under
deadline.

• Willingness and ability to travel and work on evenings and weekends to meet with
donors/prospects and attend events.

• Self-directed, multi-tasker with the ability to work with a diverse group of constituents.
